Introduction The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions. NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [ NEET (UG) – 2023] will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday, 07 May 2023 (Sunday) in Pen and Paper mode in 13 languages, as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to BHMS course as per National Commission for Homeopathy Act, 2020. The languages in which the NEET (UG) 2023 would be conducted are: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Course being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2023 are required to qualify NEET. The NEET score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.

Delhi best scoring region with 74.92% students qualifying: According to official NEET statement, Delhi surfaced as the best scoring region with 74.92 percent of the students appearing for the exam qualifying for it. Delhi was followed by Haryana (73.41 percent) and Chandigarh (73.24 percent). 14.52% rise in number of students who registered for NEET in 2019: According to the official NEET statement, the total number of candidates who registered for the examination was 15,19,375, which is a 14.52 percent rise in numbers from last year. The number of candidates present for the exam was 14,10,755, which is 92.85% of the candidates. The number of NRI students appearing for NEET were 1,884 which is less than one percent – 0.12 percent. New Delhi: Medical Council of India (MCI) has released a Gazette notification extending the NEET validity to three years. Currently, NEET UG or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate scores have the validity for one year, which is the same year a student clear the national level medical entrance examination. MCI, the medical education regulator in the country, has in another recent notification made NEET mandatory for pursuing MBBS medical courses abroad and according to officials increasing the validity of the scores will help the students who are going abroad as admission process in different countries is a time-taking exercise. According to the MCI Gazette notification, “the result of NEET shall be valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of declaration of result, entitling a candidate to pursue MBBS or equivalent medical course including pre-medical/language course, if any, followed by MBBS or equivalent medical course”. The notification also said the regulation “shall come into force from the date of publication in the official Gazette”, which is March 14, 2019. NEET, formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is an entrance examination conducted in India, for students who wish to study graduate level medical and dental courses (MBBS and BDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in the country. At present, the undergraduate NEET is organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA),  a newly-formed agency under the supervision of Human Resources Development Ministry to as a specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. Number of enrollments increased in NEET 2019, Total 15.19 lakh candidates to appear

The registration for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2019) has closed on December 7, 2018, with a growth of 14.4% of registrations from the last year. The regulatory body of NEET, National Testing Agency (NTA) has seen an ascend in the NEET registration 2019 to a record of 15.19 lakh candidates. Earlier, a total of 13,26,725 aspirants appeared for NEET 2018, while 11.38 lakh registrations were received for the year 2017. Reportedly, the government officials feel that the reason for the increase in the number of registration is that NEET is now mandatory to pursue MBBS and BDS courses abroad. Apart from medical and dental courses, NEET is also mandatory for AYUSH courses and 15% All India Quota seats of Veterinary courses across the country. As per the sources, female candidates continue to outnumber male candidates as the number of registered female medical aspirants are 1.5 lakh more than the male candidates. Even last year, the number of registered female candidates was more than 1.65 lakh as compared to male candidates. The applications of OBC candidates are highest among all categories and are 1.42 lakh more than the general category students. Also, it has been found that as per the state-wise data, with 2,19,883 registrations, Maharashtra has registered the highest number of test takers. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India Online Under Graduate Medical / Dental Seats Online Allotment process (Online Counseling) All the NEET Under Graduate (MBBS/BDS) aspirant candidates are hereby informed that counseling for All India Quota seats/ Institutional Quota/ Domicile (internal candidates) of Central Universities (Aligarh Muslim University/ Banaras Hindu University/ University of Delhi/Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi), (wards of ESIC insured persons) seats of colleges under Employee State Insurance Corporation and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune for the Under graduate session 2018-19 will be conducted by Medical Counseling Committee/ Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
