Dentistry is the branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention and the treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and the adjacent and associated structures and their impact on the human body. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS Course) is divided into 4 years of training and one year of compulsory rotatory internship. The students are taught the basics of medicine and they would be dealt in depth with various aspects of dentistry, including dental materials, dental anatomy, oral histopathology, oral pathology, community dentistry, pedodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, conservative endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine and radiology, ortho dental and dentofacial. Eligibility Criteria The candidate must have passed 10+2 and equivalent course in the science stream which includes biology, physics and chemistry. Candidate must have secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examinations. He must have completed a minimum age of 17 years. Entrance Examinations are conducted in major cities all over India. Advertisements are given, regarding issue of Application forms for Common Entrance Examination, important dates etc., in all leading newspapers all over India are also notified. The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Exam conducted by the CBSE is common for both the M.B.B.S. and the Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS). The allocation of institutions is based on merit. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)

MBBS refers to Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. These degrees are treated as one degree but are awarded together when in practice. Eligibility Criteria Eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS course is strictly based on Rules and Regulations of Medical Council of India. The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination as under: The higher secondary examination of the Indian school Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than core course of English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education OR other qualifications as recognized by Medical Council of India. The Candidate should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination. The last two years of study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject, must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition, in the competitive entrance test, the candidate must have secured not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In respect of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes or Other Backward Class the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination shall be 40% instead of 50% as stated above. Age: The candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st day of December of the year of admission. Career after MBBS ?
