Andijan State Medical Institute (ASMI) is a medical college in Andijan, Uzbekistan. The Institute is regarded as one of the premier institutes of higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Demands for medical specialists have always been high, and Andijan State Medical Institute plays a prominent role in meeting these needs in Uzbekistan. Andijan State Medical Institute trains professionals who contribute their knowledge for the development of medical sciences in Uzbekistan and in Central Asia. Andijan State Medical Institute’s history goes back to the Soviet era. It was established on 2 August 1995, by edict number 241 of the Uzbek government. Presently, there are more than 2,300 students enrolled at the Institute, from all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and from parts of Central Asia. The educational process at the Institute is held by 55 departments focusing on theoretical and practical knowledge. In addition, the Institute has a scientific-research laboratory. Lectures are given by about 505 faculties, 49 of whom are doctors of medical sciences and professors, 177 are candidates of medical sciences and docents. Lessons at the Institute are held in two languages: Uzbek and Russian. There are three faculties. Study period at the Institute is set to be 7 years. The first academic year is the foundation year. From the third year, students are taught more specific subjects on their related professions. The seventh year is a practical year, when students spend their time enlarging their theoretical knowledge of the practice  All students are granted stipends each month due to their academic performance. All national universities of Uzbekistan award their students with monthly stipends, by the edict made in Uzbekistan. Some of the talented students are granted scholarship under the names of President Islam Karimov and Abu-ali Ibn Sina. The ASMI campus contains classrooms, lecture halls, computer classes, laboratories and a library. It also owns a nearby clinic for the students to practice. There are three faculties at the Andijan State Medical Institute: the Curative Works Faculty, the Pediatric Faculty, and the Raising Qualifications of Physicians Faculty. All are related to the medical sciences and have their own departments. The Curative Works Faculty is the oldest operating faculty at the Institute. It was opened in October 1955, the year of ASMI’s founding. During its first years of action, there were 10 departments and about 120 students at the faculty. In 1957, interest in the faculty grew rapidly among applicants. Under docent M.G Mirzakarim (dean from 1957 to 1970), the faculty reached its prominence, and it had one of the biggest base of textbooks in Uzbekistan. From 2013, the dean of the Curative Works Faculty has been Adham Anvarovich Gofurov, a docent and doctor of medical sciences. Students study in the branches: curative works, medical pedagogics and higher education nursing. Enrollment is approximately 1740 students. There are 14 departments at the Curative Works Faculty, which are mainly located inside the ASMI campus and clinic. Fergana State University Medical Centre, Uzbekistan

Ferghana State University is considered to be the leading educational establishment of Uzbekistan. Having a solid material base, it has been training high-qualified specialists for various spheres of national economy and education system for more than 70 years, research activities in fundamental areas of science is being conducted. The history of the University’s foundation is connected with the period of restoration of national economy in the last century’s 30s, development of educational system, training qualified specialists for various branches, first of all, for national education. At this time, Ferghana Pedagogical Institution was founded based on the decision dated May 1, 1930, which was made by the Council of National Commissioners. The opening of the institution in Ferghana Valley had very important meaning not only for the development of education, it opened opportunities for scientific and cultural flourishing. Up to this day, the institution has graduated more than 10 000 high-qualified specialists in various spheres of national economy. In the last century’s 80s, Ferghana Region’s productive forces started to progress, while implementing achievements of science and engineering in national economy equally played a significant role. Region’s governing bodies and general public united the solution of several objectives including improving science and engineering, effective use of scientific potential in industry and national economy development by renaming the Ferghana Pedagogical Institution into a University. Based on the decree of Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated Macrh 1, 1991, Ferghana Pedagogical Institution received a status of Ferghana State University. Since this time, the institution went through many large-scale structural changes. New faculties, chairs and specialties were launched. Since 1991-1992 academic year, Ferghana State University started to train specialists in several new specialties: Applied Sociology, Psychology, Law, Rational Consumption of Nature Recourses and Environmental Protection, Economics and Management, Economics and Social Planning, Bioengineering and Medical Appliances. There were significant improvements in professional and teaching staff. In 1991-92 academic year, the University had 545 lecturers, with 19 specialists having Doctor`s degree and 208 – Candidate of Science Degree. In comparison, 1178 students (with 5053 people studying full-time) were admitted in 1991-92; In 2002-03, 2040 bachelors and 115 postgraduates were admitted, 8181 in total (with 1650 people having correspondence course). The administration of University paid special attention to further improvement in professional and teaching stuff, and it was positively reflected in the growing number of specialists with Academic Degrees, including Doctor’s, Candidate’s, Associate Professor and professor Degrees. By 2007-08, 32 lecturers of the University had received Doctor’s and Professor’s Degree, 140 had received degrees of Associate Professor and Candidate of Science; with the total number of stuff of 646. Such a result had a positive effect on educational process. During 1991-2007, more than 100 professors and teachers visited foreign countries including United States, France, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, South Korea and Russia; were introduced with their systems of education. Masters Postgraduate Course is a special educational stage, according to a “National Program of Education”. Since 2000, the University has Masters Courses in following specialties: differential equations, the physiology of humans and animals, botany, inorganic chemistry, theoretical physics, economy of sectors, literature, linguistics, Native history, methods of sociological research. In 2002, the University graduated first specialists with Masters degree. In 2003, new Masters Degree specialties were founded, and its number reached the number of 16. Nowadays, the University has Postgraduate Courses with 14 specialty directions, Doctors Course with 2 directions, which shows the University’s effective realization of continuous system of National Education. Samarkand State University (SSU) is a major university in Samarkand, Uzbekistan established by a government decree of the Government of Uzbekistan dated 22 January 1927 in the city of Samarkand. The university is commonly known as Samarkand University (in Uzbek Samarqand universiteti) The university was originally organized in 1927 as the Uzbek Pedagogical Institute and in 1930, it was renamed the Uzbek State Pedagogical Academy and in 1933, upon merger of the Pedagogical Academy and the Uzbek State Medical Institute into the Uzbek State University. In 1941—2016, the University was named after poet and philosopher Ali-Shir Nava’i (alternative transliteration Alisher Navoi). In 1961, the Uzbek State University was finally renamed the Samarkand State University, a name it keeps to date. The rector of the university since 2015 is Dr. Alimdjan Rakhimovich Khalmukhamedov. Currently, the University comprises the following faculties: Philology; History and Philosophy; Teaching; Physics and Mathematics; Biology; Economy; Tajik Philology; Russian Philology; Law; Physical education. The historical roots of the Samarkand State University dates back to the time of the Temurids. During the reign of Timurids, the propagandist of science, spirituality and enlightenment, a solid foundation for the development of science, education in the Samarkand region and in the entire Movarounnahr region was created. Amir Temur and his followers, a number of madrassahs schools, were not only religious educational institutions, but also a place of secular knowledge. More than 70% of these schools have secular subjects. In fact, there is no argument that there are all opportunities for further development of the education system and the promotion of science in the country where the scholars such as Abu Ali ibn Sina, al-Khwarizmi, Zamakhshari, Mahmud Koshghari are educated. The potential of the academic school, created by Muhammad Taragai Ulugbek, the bright star of the Temurids generation, the pride of Uzbek science, is great. More than 6,000 students study in various fields in Samarkand, studying the secrets of science and educating them.Preparation of highly qualified scientific personnel at the university is carried out directly by postgraduate and doctoral studies and internships. Among the professor-teaching staff and researchers is a genuine member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and more than a dozen honorable members of the world’s most prestigious academies. More than a dozen employees of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan are awarded the State Prize named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy. It is worth noting that the prominent scientists and gifted young people are making scientific research through Soros and Eurasia funds, and on this basis are going to scientific trips to the USA, Germany, Italy and Belgium. Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, Uzbekistan

TashPMI is the only pediatric medical Institute in Central Asia, which was established in 1972 under the name of the Central Asian pediatric medical Institute . The official opening of the Institute took place on September 7, 1972, under the name of the Central Asian pediatric medical Institute – SAMPI. The main objective of the Institute was to train highly qualified doctors and pediatricians for Central Asian republics and southern Kazakhstan. This was due to the large number of children in the Central Asian republics, the absence of pediatricians in the region, the high incidence and mortality rate among children and the absence of advanced pediatricians. The rector of the Institute was appointed Deputy Minister of health of Uzbekistan, doctor of medical Sciences, Professor, head of the Department of infectious diseases TASHMI V. M.Majidov. Later he was appointed Vice-rector for educational Affairs, doctor of medical Sciences, Professor S.A. Dolimov, Vice-rector for scientific work, doctor of medical Sciences, prof. M. A. Kamalov, Deputy rector for economic Affairs, Professor, senior lecturer Professor S.S. Rumi and Professor, doctor of medical Sciences, F. H. Nazarmuhamedov was appointed Dean of the medical faculty. Before the opening of the Institute, very hard preparatory work was carried out. The main tasks which have to be realized shortly before the beginning of academic year were defined: granting 40 faculties by professors, teachers, the educational equipment and educational bases, creation of new library, the organization of economic activity of Institute, pediatric faculties of the Tashkent and Andijan medical institutes, moving of students of 2-6 courses and granting of hostels to them, reception of students in the first year, and from September 1 the organization of training on 1-6 courses. It should be noted that the new team of the new Institute carried out a lot of public work during the summer holidays for two months, the main tasks were fulfilled and training began in September 1972. The team of the new Institute began training in 6 courses at the same time and successfully passed through the difficult tests. Within the framework of the organization 18 theoretical departments, 6 lecture departments and rectorate, 22 clinical departments in Tashkent and Tashkent region were created. At that time, TASHMI and Its departments were provided with material assistance – educational equipment, furniture, books, etc. In 1972-1973 academic year, 703 students were admitted to the first year, the Institute received 3,170 students representing 32 nationalities. Enrolled 60 students from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, 60 from Uzbekistan and other parts of the former Soviet Union. At the end of this academic year, 449 students successfully graduated from the Institute. The next school year the number of students has reached 800, and a few years later it reached 1,000. Every year, about 50 students from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and southern Kazakhstan and about 600 students were enrolled from the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Institute remained under the patronage of the former USSR Ministry of health until 1988, and then was transferred to the Ministry of health of Uzbekistan. Since April 28, 1989 Central Asian medical pediatric Institute has been renamed into Tashkent pediatric medical Institute by order of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 357. From 1990 to 1991 in Nukus opened a branch of the Institute, and the Director of the branch was appointed Professor of biochemistry Institute J. M. Mamutov. Currently, the branch Manager is O. A. Ataniyazova. Over the past period, TashPMI has trained about 30,000 paediatricians, pediatric surgeons and infectious disease specialists of whom 1,065 graduates graduated with honors. In connection with the increase in the number of students, buildings, educational buildings, clinical bases, dormitories were expanded: in 1976-1978, 5 dormitories with 1860 beds were commissioned , in 1976, a new modern morphological building appeared on the territory of the Institute, in 1981, an educational and medical building – SAMPI school, a new children’s clinic in 1985 and a 4-storey educational and administrative building in 1990. Since 1977, a special training course has been opened to prepare students for admission to the Institute. Later, this course was transferred to the faculty of training Khakimov Was the first Dean, then head of the Department was prof.  If in 1974 – 1975, TashPMI more than 3.5 thousands of students taught: 19 professors, 54 associate professors ,178 assistants( of these, 103 candidates of Sciences), in 2000 – 2001 years of 349 teachers who taught 2514 students, 46 are doctors of Sciences, 138 candidates of Sciences. By 2012, out of 522 teaching staff, teaching about 3,000 students, 63 doctors of Sciences, and 218 candidates of Sciences. After Uzbekistan gained independence, was launched major reforms in the field of medical education, as in other areas, has developed a new national curriculum and, according to this curriculum, the medical school was created on 2 level training of General practitioners and masters (bachelor and master). Currently in medical schools in particular, in TashPMI is defined as 6 years of training for becoming a General practitioner. In accordance with the ongoing reforms in the country in the field of education in accordance with the requirements of the market economy to create high-quality personnel, special attention is paid to the training of qualified pediatricians. Over the years of independence, the number of medical institutions has increased. Before Independence, their number reached three in our country, and now 9 with three branches. The effectiveness and quality of the educational process has always been the focus of attention of the Institute since its inception. Urgench Branch of Tashkent Medical Academy, Uzbekistan

Tashkent Medical University is located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It was founded in 1935 Tashkent is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. There are general medicine, medico-pedagogical, medico-prophylactic and Higher Nursing faculties at the academy, in total there are 4662 students. Every year foreign students give preference  to this institute due to a number of objective reasons: professionally, high standards and level of education, learning diagnostics, treating regional pathology and such factors as religious freedom, law defense, favorable climate which are mainly important for countries of Asia and Latin America.
