Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after AI Evdokimov is a 90 years old Medical and Dental University of Russian Federation , the first dental university in Russia. Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry is one of the main and leading University in Russia which provides training in both dentistry and Medicine field. Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry was inaugurated on 2 April 1922 as National Institute of Dentistry. In 1927 National Institute of Dentistry renamed into the National Institute of Dentistry and Odontology.

In 1932 the National Institute of Dentistry and Odontology was renamed into the State Research Institute of Dental and dentistry. In 1935 State Research Institute of Dental and dentistry organized the Moscow Institute of Dental for higher education. In 1939 State Research Institute of Dental and dentistry and Moscow Dental Institute were merged into the Moscow State Institute of Dentistry. In 1949 Moscow State Institute of Dentistry was reorganized into the Moscow Medical and Dental Institute. In 1968 Moscow State Institute of Dentistry opened the Medical Faculty. In 1974 Moscow State Institute of Dentistry was named after N. Semashko. In 1995 Moscow State Institute of Dentistry opened the faculty for graduate education. In 1999 the Moscow State Institute of Dentistry received university status and renamed into  Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. In 2001 Department of Clinical Psychology was organized in the university. In 2004 Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry created the Faculty of Economics. Today Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry is one of the largest educational, scientific and practical center in Russia and Europe. Today Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry consists of modern academic buildings, clinics and laboratories, which operate on the basis of dental, medical, economic, Penitentiary Medicine, Postgraduate Education, secondary vocational education, Teacher Education in Higher Medical School, preliminary training and Faculty of Social Work.
