Osh State University was coined around 24 May 1951 named as Osh State Pedagogical Institute.The Medical Faculty, Osh State University is a public medical institute located in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. It was opened in 2014 as of the reorganisation of the Osh State Pedagogical Institute into Osh State University. The Medical Institute prepares medical professionals in specialties of General Medicine and Pediatrics. Teaching hospitals are well equipped, with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. 244 highly qualified teachers are working in 19 Chairs. The Institute has its own library with 32,178 medical books and international scientific journals. The Medical Institute is known for maintaining the very highest standards of academic honesty and institutional integrity. During the years of its existence, the Medical Institute has trained foreign students from more than twenty countries. Poznan University of Medical Sciences is a prominent Polish medical university, located in the city of Poznań in western Poland. It traces its beginnings to the foundation of Poznań Universityin 1919, and was formed as a separate institution in 1950. It gained the status of uniwersytet in 2007. The Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) is one of the best and largest medical universities in Poland, with over 95 years of sound academic experience and a great growth momentum. The University is a leading medical school in Poland and is currently recognized as the largest educational, research, and clinical center in Poland. PUMS offers the highest number of specialties for students to choose from, and the research and clinical teaching is conducted here in close partnership with six clinical hospitals. In the academic year 2013-2014, there are over 8,000 enrolled students in the University, including nearly 1,000 international students. Its academic personnel is comprised of over 1,000 faculty members and teaching staff employed in Medical Faculty I, Medical Faculty II, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Health Sciences, all of which are affiliated with the five programs at the Center for Medical Education in English. Most of the teaching staff are medical practitioners and doctors of medicine; around a hundred represent different scientific disciplines; and nearly a hundred are doctors of dentistry. The University continually develops and upgrades its teaching methods investing in highly specialized equipment and facilities in order to reflect the current advances in medical technology. In 2010 it opened the first-in-Poland Center for Medical Simulation, followed by a state-of-the-art Conference and Teaching Center and a modernized Main Medical Library, and it is currently building a Center for Scientific Medical Information.
