Ovidius University of Constanța is a public higher education institution founded in 1961 and transformed into a comprehensive university in 1990.  It has study programs in medical and natural sciences, humanities and engineering, social and economic sciences, law and administrative sciences, theology and arts.  Ovidius University of Constanța offers nationally and internationally accredited programs at all three levels of study, the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees offered being recognized in the entire European Union and beyond.  With over 15,000 students, of which about 1200 are international, it is the largest university in South-East Romania and the largest university of the European Union at the Black Sea. As the Charter of the university states, the Pedagogical Institute was founded by Order of the Ministry of Education no. 654 of 1961, comprising four faculties. By State Council Decree no. 209 of 1977 the institute became a Higher Education Institute and reorganized. By Government Decision 209 of 1990 the institute became a university and, a year later, by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science no. 4894 of 1991 the university was given the present name. Ovidius University is located in the city of Constanta, Romania. The university’s buildings are spread over the city, with usable area (lecture halls, seminar rooms, laboratories and reading rooms) totaling over 24000 square meters.The university has two main campuses, both located in Constanta. The central campus, hosting the headquarters of the university and the faculties of sciences and engineering, is located at 124 Mamaia Boulevard, whereas the north campus is located at 1 University Alley, hosting the faculties of humanities and theology, social sciences, life and medical sciences. Ovidius University is a member of the European University Association (EUA), the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE), and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF, Francophone University Association). It is founding member of the Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN) and of the Balkan Universities Association (BUA) and it hosts the permanent general secretariat of BSUN. The university offers bachelor’s degrees in over 80 programs, master’s degrees in over 70 programs and doctoral degrees in 8 fields of specialization. At the moment bachelor’s programs in English are offered in Medicine and Computer Science as well as in Cultural Studies. Ovidius University of Constanta also offers PhD programms in English, French or Romanian. As of 2014, most of the over 1100 international students come from Moldova, Israel, Turkey, Albania, United Kingdom, Republic of Macedonia, Morocco, India, Turkmenistan, South Africa, etc.   The Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1990, under the name of Faculty of General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in 1990. Since 1993, the Faculty of Medicine started the modules of teaching in the English language at all levels and specializations, both in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Currently there are over 800 foreign students, of which more than 600 are enrolled in the program in English, about 200 studying in Romanian. The Academic program of the Faculty of Medicine is supported by 209 didactic positions, from which 170 are covered with fully employed teachers.Among the 170 teachers, the Staff of the Faculty of Medicine is distributed as follows: – 27 professors; – 20 lecturers; – 51 lectors; – 72 assistants and young debutants (preparatory position). The Central Unit of the Library of Ovidius University in Constanta operates in the building body located on Mamaia Boulevard no. 126 (Traditional Library) and includes: 3 reading rooms with about 100 seats and the Digital Library, located at the new library’s floor, a library connected to international scientific publications and interconnected with the management system of UMS students with 60 seats. The AMERICAN CORNER Library has a capacity of 30 seats within the Central Unit. International students may choose and participate in the wide variety of sports activities offered by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.  These include various kinds of aerobics, athletics, badminton, basketball, bodybuilding, canoeing, dance, fitness yoga, football, jogging, modern gymnastics, martial arts, skiing, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball. International students may also participate in some extracurricular sports activities under the same conditions as Romanian students.  The University Sports Center is located in the northern campus, next to Mamaia Lake. Yerevan University of Traditional Medicine, Armenia

UTM is one of the unprecedented and leading educational institutions in the region. In the University of Traditional Medicine medical higher educational and medical secondary educational programs are held, which are provided by RA educational law from which higher educational programs are implemented by the main and additional educational programs. The graduates get State Diploma. The University’s educational activity aims at preparation of such new qualified specialists who will develop the 21st century medicine by integration. This process doesn’t have its precedent in the region. The graduates of the university pass serious exams not only in the health system of our Republic but also in that of foreign countries.
