The Medical Institute of the North-Caucasian State Humanitarian and Technological Academy was established in 2004 with the purpose of educating Medical Doctors. One of the most important reasons for organizing the Medical Instute in the city of Cherkessk was to solve a significant problem for our Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia – the shortage of Medical Doctors. In accordance with a State-issued license the Medical Institute is awarded the right of conducting educational activities in the field of higher educational training, speciality 060101.65 (Medicine).

At present North Caucasus State Technical University is a huge educational and research complex. The heading is in Stavropol, branches are in Nevinnomyssk – Nevinnomyssk Technological Institute, in the cities of Pyatigorsk, Georgievsk, Kislovodsk. There also exist such institutions as Institute for Intensive Training (crash course), Distant Learning Faculty, and Interdisciplinary Regional Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining. The University also has branches in the republics of Kalmykia, North-Osetia, Ingushetia, Karachayevo-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria. North Caucasus Humanitarian Technical Institute is also established on the basis of the University.
NCSTU is actively integrating into international educational system. The University participates in international educational projects and has cooperation and student exchange agreements with educational and research centers in the USA, Canada, West Europe, South-Eastern Asia and Africa.
More than 15 thousand Russian and foreign students are getting education at NCSTU in 50 technical, natural science, economic and humanitarian specialities.

The trainees are expose to the most modern developments in medical sciences and at the same time equal emphasis given to making them service oriented so that they identify themselves with the community where they are called to serve.

Our Institution has specialized laboratories for Anatomy (museum), Physiology, Biochemistry and Pathology, among others to help the students develop psychomotor skills, which are very essential for the effective practice of medicine. Medical Institute also has an innovative, modern clinical skills lab where our students training on various physical skills related to various organ systems, preparing them for real patient encounters. We having wellequipped Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry and Pathology Laboratories. Most of the diagnostic tests conducted by fully automated, advanced instruments in our Diagnostics Centers.
