The AMMS has an advanced academic system that includes 25 doctoral programs and 33 master’s programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and military science. Its two major research centres,the Toxicology Analysis Center and the Beijing Proteome Research Center, both play key roles in international medical research-the former acting as a designated laboratory for non-pro-liferation research under the UN’s Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), and the latter being the executive headquarters of the international Human Liver Proteome Project (HLPP). Round the clock Ambulance, Pharmacy, Blood Bank services are available within the hospital complex. The OPDs of the various departments together have a capacity to treat about 1000 patients daily. The average daily OPD attendance is between 600 to 700. The average Bed Occupancy in the wards remain around 75 percent throughout the year. The Central Library is housed in a separate huge and beautiful double storied building located at the center of the college campus. It has been acknowledged as one of the best libraries in Nepal. The central library can accommodate about 250 readers at a time. Separate reading space have been provided to the faculty members, Postgraduate students/interns and the undergraduate students. Seating comfortableness, ventilation and lighting have been well taken care of. There is adequate provision for drinking water and toilet facility in each floor. . The Central library has a very rich collection of more than 15 thousand volumes of Text/Reference books. The hostels for boys together have 500 rooms with fully furnished single seated accommodation with toilet and small pantry attached. There are excellent facilities for indoor/outdoor games, Gymnasium etc. The hostels for girls together have 400 rooms with fully furnished single seated accommodation with toilet and small kitchen attached.
