In 1828, the University of Central Lancashire was founded in Preston as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge. ‘Ex solo ad solem’, or in translation, ‘From the Earth to the Sun’, has been its motto ever since – helping talented people from all walks of life to make the most of their potential. The School of Medicine offers a range of clinical programmes in medicine, including a UK-based medical degree – the MBBS – which will train global doctors through a programme undergoing quality assurance by the UK General Medical Council, postgraduate and undergraduate Physician Associate training, a foundation entry programme and a range of postgraduate and professional programmes, aimed at helping practitioners develop specialist skills and knowledge. The School of Medicine offers an innovative MBBS programme. Our MBBS will train doctors through a programme undergoing quality assurance by the UK General Medical Council and which offers a medical education to the highest UK standards for self-funded and sponsored international students.. The course builds on UCLan’s existing expertise in dentistry, pharmacy, and allied health professions and students will be part of a School which will allow for unique interactions with these groups of students. UCLan’s MBBS programme will deliver outstanding teaching, combined with real-world clinical experience, to shape the global doctors of the future. The MBBS programme has been developed in line with General Medical Council (GMC) quality assurance processes and as with any new medical school receives regular quality assurance visits from the GMC. The School also offers an integrated Masters for undergraduates and a Diploma for postgraduates in Physician Associate studies. Successful graduates from these courses are eligible to sit the national Physicians Associate exam and once successful apply for registration as a UK Physicians Associate This group of professionals, although relatively new to the UK are designed to form part of the integrated NHS workforce of the future, and employment of registered Physician Associates is at present close to 100 percent. The School also offers postgraduate medical courses for general practitioners (GPs) and other health professionals who want to develop skills and knowledge in clinical and non-clinical roles, with the objective of increasing specialisation, enhancing leadership skills and developing practice. UCLan’s School of Dentistry provides a growing portfolio of flexible, part-time, postgraduate degrees, along with the popular graduate entry Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme which currently boasts a 100% success rate for graduate employment. The School also has a strong focus on continuing professional development and allows General Dental Practitioners the opportunity to further their skills and education in their chosen area of interest, whilst maintaining their clinical practice. University of Debrecen, Medical and Health Science Center, Hungary

The University of Debrecen is a university located in Debrecen, Hungary. It is the oldest continuously operating institution of higher education in Hungary (since 1538). The university has a well established programme in the English language for international students, particularly in the Medical field, which first established education in English in 1986. There are nearly 4000 international students studying at the university.Until 2014 technical Academy Awards (Oscars) have been awarded to five former students. The university has two major campuses, both in Debrecen: the older main campus (virtual tour), which hosts the majority of the departments of the faculties of arts, science, informatics, medicine, music and also the botanical garden; and the younger “Kassai-road campus” where most of the buildings of the faculties of law and economy are located. However, besides these, numerous smaller units are spread across the city, for example the departments of physics and the Institute of Nuclear Research of the HAS forming a compact “mini-campus”, or the Faculty of Agronomy. The library of the University of Debrecen is the largest university library in Hungary, and one of the two national libraries of the country (the other being the National Széchényi Library in Budapest). The number of records in the library is above 6 million. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Debrecen was Central Europe’s first campus medical school.The University was officially inaugurated on October 23, 1918 and at that time consisted of four faculties: Arts, Science, Theology and Medicine.The Faculty of Medicine became an independent University Medical School under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in 1951 The University conducts its programs according to the European Qualifications Framework of the Bologna Process. Medical programs are accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO), the State Education Department (NY, USA), Medical Board of California, the General Medicine Council (UK – PLAB exam is compulsory), Medical Councils of India (a qualifying exam is compulsory), Israel, Ireland, Iran, Norway and the United Arab Emirates. The research and development activity, as demonstrated by the number of publications, citations and the amount of research expenditure, has steadily grown and proven outstanding when compared nationally. Priority areas of research, such as molecular science, physical, computational and material science, molecular medicine, medical, health, environmental and agricultural science, linguistics, culture and bioethics, are focus areas selected for their multidisciplinary approach.
